A Night Out!

We joined the Hill family for a pancake breakfast last Saturday. It was a early 730 and we were strolling in ready for some breakfast!

Kids chatting it up on this fine Saturday morning.

If you can't tell from this picture..Momma needs some sun this summer. Wow..I'm white.
Jackson is the sweetest with my little cry baby. He always tries to tickle him so sweetly and just talk to him. Any time Turner needs something or is upset, Jackson lets me know. I love that kid!

We had Franklin's birthday party that afternoon. He had the best tractor that Turner eyed and wanted to play.

Look, Momma! This is how a man rides on his tractor!

We then went and ate at Applebees.  We have only been there one other time in the past four months--it's a great place because they are kid friendly...we are starting to find 'kid friendly' restaurants. The manager I love. He not only remembered Turner from last time, gave him some ice cream, and gave me the best advice on how to help his teething... He said to take a whole chicken, boil it, boil it until the meat is just falling off! Then take all the meat off and let that boy just gnaw on the chicken bone.... I just smiled and was saying in my head.."No..." but that was sweet of him to give me some advice. Remember..bubble boy.

Turner then stayed the night at Shugie's  so we could attend 'Night at the Races' with Marcy and Cameron. Turner loved the toys she bought him and fell right into the groove at her house in no time! He loved the english muffin he got in the morning and simply having Shugie time! We love Turner being with his family and we love having a night to spend with just each other!

Eating his english muffin for breakfast! Yummy!
 Night out! Woo hoo!
I love this girl!

Love the Way You...

Turner is growing and growing into his Turner personality more and more each day! This blog is dedicated to what he L*O*V*E*S!

His Momma!

...Well that's it for today! :)

I am for sure he would say I'm on the top of his list, but this boy loves many other things!

Starting his day he loves....

  • Drinking his milk and scooping cheerios out of his bowl.
  • Walking with his wagon before I've even poured my 1st cup of coffee.
  • Stealing some of my breakfast..banana..cereal..or yogurt before I leave for the day.
  • Sloppy open mouth kisses that doesn't only leave a mark on your face, but makes a mark on your heart for the rest of the day!
  • Feeding himself. We have to trick him by giving him a spoon and in between his 'bites' we shovel in a good spoonful of food!
  • Helping me get ready in the morning by throwing all my lotions in the big bathtub.
  • Sneaking into our room thinking we don't see him to just play.
  • Chucking toys behind his back.
  • Chucking his milk..spoon...bowl..washcloth..food...onto the floor...ok chunking anything.
  • Watching Momma pick it up with stern 'Nos' in hopes tomorrow he will quit doing that. :)
  • Placing his hand in the lotion and then rubbing it on his belly.
  • Watching Grandmama walk through that door ready to feed him his oatmeal! He has a special sound he makes each time she walks in and even Addison confirmed this week he has formed some sort of sound/word for Grandmama.
  • Crying every time I put him down. He does his dramatic flop to the floor..peeks with his eyes to see if I'm watching..rolls around some more..and then sniffles, gets up, and begins to play.
  • Singing and dancing to any music around him. His little wiggle he does with his bottom and swoops with his hands are just precious!
  • Reading his books in one swift motion.
  • Talking and talking about his day.
  • Finger pointing. He concentrates real hard...points out with a finger...zones in..and then 'touch'-that's it but so fun to watch!
  • Being outside. This boy loves being outside, which doesn't surprise any of us knowing genes on both sides. He cries so hard every time we bring him back in. He'll stare out the window, bang on the window and scream like he's captivated and wants out!
  • Staring at people. He will whip that head around very quickly just to stare at someone. He won't blink. He won't move. He zones in and stares until we distract him.
  • Eating. Grandmama gets the gold star on how much she can feed him. She lets him feed himself and he loves it, but it's messy. He will eat anything.
  • Eating what everyone else has. He gets this crazy look in his eye when we are eating and he doesn't have what we have. He's very strong by the way and why I've lost so much weight is because he either eats it or he's moved on to something else, so I'm moving on with him!
  • Spending Mondays with his Aunt Natalie. I can't begin to tell her how much I appreciate her offering to do this his first year & Tman loves every minute!
  • Playing in water. He's always loved baths and time with daddy, but he drinks lots of water..he has loved to spit a lot of it out all over his shirt. He loves to dip his hand in my ice cold water and feel around for the ice. Big smiles when I let him do this. I can't wait for pool fun..which I hope he likes to play in that as well-we will see!
  • Wearing hats! He will keep it on too except in the car.
  • Being like his daddy. He not only looks like him (Quick story. A few weeks ago in the church nursery I made a 'mom friend' who was hanging out in there. After awhile of talking she asks, "Does Turner look like his daddy?" I said, "Before I answer, does he look like me?" She just bluntly said, "No." ..I said, "Yes..he looks just like his daddy." :) HA! Loved her honesty-he has my nose!!)
  • Being sweet. He has a very sweet heart and gets his feeling hurt easily. He still loves to nestle his head on my chest and let me hum to him. Some my call this 'bubble boy' but I see it as my sensitive little man.
  • Visiting with his family! As you have noticed with this blog, we our a very tight family and do a lot together. Turner loves seeing and going to visit the whole family tree!
  • Scratching his back. He will sit and just relax while I scratch his back and neck. He loves it! Because I know he loves this, I've actually kept my fingernails nice just for this!
  • Placing any items in a bucket. Yesterday he had a whole bucket full of grass that he picked one by one to get the satisfaction of placing it in the bucket.
  • Singing...well, he loves my singing. He will just sit and listen or dance along. I love how I finally have captured an audience..of one :).
  • Loves following PoPo around and making him nervous. He just wants to be BFF with that little dog!
I LOVE this face...

....the list could go on and on. These were just off the top of my head. As you can see, it's more of the things I LOVE about this little guy than what he loves. It's simple...Turner makes everything and anything lovable and I adore that about him!

Love,
Mum

Easter 2011 had some 'Fluff'

Easter morning a year ago!! Turner was only 5 days old...so taking a little trip down memory lane!
After we opened his goodies, we all snuggled in bed! For obvious reasons, there was no attempt on getting ready for church on this day.
 Dreaming of Peeps....

Now jumping to Easter 2011!!

Easter morning was fun! He loved shaking the eggs...

 Shaking the eggs....
 and..shaking the eggs....
and then we went on to decorating them!
I wrote our names on the eggs. With that white crayon it's hard to see...so Turner's first Easter egg came out Tumer...so I had to do a second one for him. I wrote Mum on mine and then Addison outdid me by writing Daddy loves Tman! We even had one for PoPo and Jesus. It was fun and Turner SO BADLY wanted to touch the dye..maybe next year :).
We used pretty much everything from last year...we are all about reusing things because he doesn't realize it..who am I kidding..we will do that even when he does realize it!

 PoPO even got a basket
Off to church! We were only 15 minutes late this time. We made it in time for children's church. Turner gripped me like I was going to leave him with the church choir. He pretty much watched the cute little blonde boy bouncing up next to me like he had a few too many peeps that morning. It kept Tman entertained at least.  I wish I could say I really got a lot out of the Easter message..but I was in the nursery with Turner. A little boy in the nursery (after he paused from his 10 minutes of playing 'where's the sticker' on his new frog with me) looked at Turner..stared at him with this confused look..and then back at me. It followed with a scrunched up nose.."Why is he wearing a tie?!" I explained you want to look your best for Easter dress. Turner was praying that he wouldn't be left in the nursery alone..

We then went to my mom and dad's for Easter lunch. Turner loved my must have, 'Fluff'. Fluff is this green stuff that my mom loves to make for me :). I hope to pass on these wonderful motherly gestures to Turner and him wanting fluff. It's green..it has pineapple..it takes no time to make..it's yummy!

We then had our 1st annual Easter Egg hunt, decorating contest, and strawberry shortcake extravaganza at our house with the big family! It was fun. We had prizes for certain eggs, egg decorating with a cash prize, and yummy shortcake. I even made homemade whip cream!
Aunt Natalie got him a cute basket filled with goodies and some silly string!
This was Addison and Aaron's Easter outfit when they were babies. Turner looked adorable in it! Shugie handmade it and I love this picture!
Snotty nose watch...along with Easter egg hunts, we were constantly on the hunt for a kleenex to wipe Tman's nose. He has many teeth coming in and allergies = snotty nose. Uncle Aaron going above and beyond on Uncle duties!

Let the HUNT begin!

Turner we are going to win! Find those eggs! ...well by the third one, Mum was tired..Turner didn't care..so he got a total of four eggs on his first hunt! Aunt Natalie won the $10.00 gift card to Chick-Fil-A!
Shugie bought Tman this cute bunny rock for outside, but since it was raining,  it was inside and he found the little green egg.

It was down to the three eggs here...I bet you can guess which one won. Yep! The I love Turner..not only did it say that, it was duel colored. Well done, Dannis! Dannis won $5.00 for this. I bet many will step up their game next year. Grandmama was runner up and Uncle Beej was 3rd place with 'Boooyah!' written on it..such a festive Easter word.
Turner couldn't decide which egg he wanted!

That's all the fun for one Easter! He probably had the most sugar to date on this day. Shugie made her famous 'shugie' cookies. Turner loved them and ate quite a few..Mommy loved them, too. He then thought it would be funny to crack open a plastic egg and shove about 8 jelly beans in his mouth while mommy and daddy were sitting right there just talking away. I look down and see all these colorful juices pouring from his mouth...the trail of jelly beans..and the cracked egg...and puff cheeks. I squeeze the cheeks and scoop out the jelly goo..Tman was not really happy with Mum at that moment..he was loving the sugary goodness. Mum then had the whole house egg free in about .5 seconds!
This little man had a wonderful Easter and loved spending it with family.

Reading with the Razorbacks..& MoRe!

Addison was away fishing a few weekends ago, so I filled the weekend with FUN for Turner (& me). My mom and I noticed in the paper they were having Read with the Razorbacks at the library..yeah..Touch-a-Truck...Spinach festival...Red/White Game...Razorback kid day..was going on..BUT I just KNEW all Turner wanted to do was go to the library to read with some sports people and then head up to the Farmer's Market for Earth Day fun! :).. Above is Karen and Jevin. Karen is aka SuperMom..I was stunned when in the car I texted her  just telling her (I know short notice).. this is going on..not even 15 minutes later they are strolling in and she lives in Johnson!
Look, Momma..._______________I can't even give you a big name from U of A sports because I truly don't know one that's playing right now...so you can just fill in the blank with your favorite player. They probably were there..but I wouldn't know.
They gave us a free book and we had all the 'sports' boys and girls autograph it. I would ask them, "What do you play?" and Then I would tell them all the fun things Turner likes to do..and then Tman would give them a high five. It was very sweet for the college kids to give up a Saturday morning to come read & listen to a mom like me. I know you can't see it..but I even wore my 'book' shirt. Yep...I'm the cool mom.

I forgot some pictures. Above was after the library we went to the Farmer's Market to celebrate Earth Day. Right when we got to these musicians they played 'You Are My Sunshine!' On of our favorite songs!

This is Scotty Thurman. He is LEGEND as I've been told to U of A Basketball. The Wiggles book we own now is very special because he signed it! Tman has his game face on.

Listening to the stories.
Turner had so much fun giving everyone high fives...talking about how he wants to be a baseball player when he gets older...and listening to the stories. He and Jevin are 2 weeks apart, so they are pretty much on the same page and love chillin' together. Jevin has the cutest little wave that he showed me that day!
Turner also crawled all over children he did not know..almost knocked Jevin in the head with a puzzle piece from chunking behind his back...sneezed on another child ..which I wanted to die. We left at that point...oh and tried to sift through a woman's purse. He really was 'into' things at the library. He just feels like it's his home away from home.

& now the MoRe!
We had Eat.Play at our house this time. I love this Friday night once a month to simply hang with friends ..eat and be merry! Jenny & Hayden attend as well, but I didn't really settle and remember to take pictures until the end of the night!

It's simple. I love Saturdays more than I ever knew I would. Even today when I was up at 545 with a wailing Turner (bad teething)...I love every minute. I love us spending time as a family since the work week is just crazy.
He loves his little snack cups! He is so cute sticking his hand in there and munch..munch.. His favorite are cheerios and banana puffs. He has started loving feeding others. This morning Addison got a mouthful of cheerios courtesy of Tman. He also has this little dish on his musical chair that he stores the cheerios..really..we now find Cheerios everywhere. He's also gone from placing one at a time in his mouth..to let's see how many I can cram at once. That's fun.
He's moving and shaking but still not walking. He took two steps between us on this day as we were playing.
He takes his Radio flyer all over the house. He will do this until he just wears himself out!
Loves placing the radio flyer RIGHT in front of PoPo's food/water bowl..it's as if he knows. He then happily strolls back to the living room with the look of pride!
He loves pushing his musical piano around like his wagon. Musical genius on the go!

Yeah..no makeup..the look of tired in my eyes..BUT it's Saturday and I love it!
Lazy Saturdays at its best for the whole family!
Kick your legs up..play a little music..and chill as a family while chomping on Cheerios--that's the perfect world!
(My FAVORITE picture!)
